Ladies Team
Padiham FC Ladies
A brief History
Work on trying to develop a girls and ladies section at Padiham Football Club started back in 2004 under the management of Gary Mills. He was the one that put the infrastructure in place and made it possible for the storks to become founder members of the Lancashire Football Association Under 15s girls football league, move into the Lancashire FA Under 16s league a year later and then make the step up into the Lancashire FA Womens County League in 2006.
Finishing runners-up in Division Two of the Womens County League at the end of season 2006-07 meant Padiham Ladies gained promotion to Lancashire FAs top Division of the Womens County League after only existing for three years.
Unfortunately despite the successes of the girls and ladies section of Padiham Football Club there have been no direct commercial benefits to Padiham Football Club.
Initially increasing the clubs expenditure on something that had no direct commercial advantage had to be considered a risk, but under Gary Mills the girls and ladies section of Padiham Football Club has cost the club very little in real terms and benefited the club enormously in other ways.
Season 2008-09 has seen Padiham Ladies get as far as the semi-finals of the Lancashire FA Womens County Knock-Out Cup before losing to Rochdale Ladies and also challenge for honours in the league.
